The Aga Khan Early Learning Centre (“AKELC”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices and rights available to you. It is provided in the spirit of the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (“PDPL”) and other applicable laws.

2.Information we collect
- Enquiry and admissions information you provide through our forms, such as parent or guardian name, email address, mobile number, and a child’s name and date of birth.
- Careers information if you apply for a role, such as your name, contact details, work history, references and any résumé or documents you upload.
- Messages and any other information you choose to send us.
- Technical and usage information collected automatically, such as IP address, browser type, device information and pages viewed, including through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookies Policy).
3.Children’s data
Because we are an early-years setting, we may receive limited information about a child (such as name and date of birth) submitted by a parent or guardian for the purpose of an enquiry or application. We treat this information with particular care, collect only what is necessary, and rely on the parent or guardian who submits it to have the authority to do so. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children through the Website.
4.How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and process admissions or careers applications.
- To contact you about tours, availability, and related information you have requested.
- To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Website.
- To comply with our legal, regulatory and safeguarding obligations.
5.Legal bases
We process personal data on one or more of the following bases: your consent; the performance of steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract; our legitimate interests in operating and improving our services (provided these do not override your rights); and compliance with legal obligations.
6.Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf (such as hosting, email, analytics and form-handling providers) under appropriate confidentiality obligations; with organisations within the Aga Khan Development Network where relevant to your enquiry; and with authorities or advisers where required or permitted by law, or to protect our rights, safety or the safety of others.
7.International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UAE. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps intended to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection in accordance with applicable law.
8.Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, and to resolve disputes, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
9.Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10.Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you; to request correction of inaccurate data; to request deletion; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
11.Third-party links
The Website may link to third-party sites and services which have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties.
12.Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AKELC and its owners, trustees, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents and affiliates shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the Website, the submission of information through it, or any unauthorised access to or interception of data that occurs despite our reasonable security measures.
13.Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting the revised version on this page. Please review it periodically.
